‘Yup We’re Here’ | Beloved North Bend landscape business changes ownership, renamed

[Article co-authored with Melissa Grant]

Little did Fred and Tammy Seeman know a trip to the Northwest in 2001 to visit Fred’s Stepmom would lead to 16 years in the little Snoqualmie Valley town of North Bend,  but it did. Originally from Chicago, the Seeman’s fell in love with the Valley instantly and never went back.

Fred Seeman started North Bend Materials – or North Bend Sand and Gravel as many know it –  with the original owner Phil back in 2002. In 2012 Phil retired and sold the business to the Seeman’s. Now for health reasons they are moving to Florida, where Fred lived some years back, and where they wanted to return.

Tammy doesn’t know how the yup sign got started, but said it “is a landmark that originated with the original business and has been handed down…that is how everyone in the Valley knows us!” As of March 1st, they sold the business and will now be known as North Bend Landscape and Supply.

The new owners, Kyle Cross and Steve Matriotti, are excited for their new adventure. The two friends and Issaquah residents said they were inspired to buy North Bend Materials because they saw a great opportunity to own a business in North Bend – a place they say has a great community atmosphere and great people.

The guys explained that they like helping people fulfill landscaping needs – so when this business ownership opportunity came up, they said ‘heck yeah.’

And as for the famous ‘Yup, We’re Here/Nope We’re Gone’ sign? Well, it’s not going anywhere. Kyle and Steve are well aware the sign is iconic in North Bend.  They will keep it as their open and closed sign, but will also be adding a larger sign with the new business name so as to be more visible from the street.

Things seem to be transitioning smoothly for Kyle and Steve, too.  They got a new dump truck, have been busy pulling out some encroaching blackberry bushes and were kept busy yesterday with a big order for the Snoqualmie Casino.

They welcome the community to stop by and say hi. Good Luck North Bend Landscape and Supply!
