Winter Magic outdoor Skating rink Opens, features holiday activities

It’s beginning to look a lot like ice skating as the City of Snoqualmie gears up for its annual Winter Magic Festival. Crews were hard at work Wednesday afternoon, December 7, 2016 setting up the [synthetic] ice rink on King Street (adjacent the Woodman Lodge and Railroad Park) in historic Snoqualmie.

The ice rink officially opens for the season on December 10th, from 1PM-5PM with daily family skating sessions. Cost is $3 for kids 10 and under and $5 for those over 10, which includes skate rental.

Snoqualmie Parks & Public Works Director Dan Marcinko said, “We want to provide a festive environment and outdoor activities for families and kids during their winter break from school. It’s all about bringing the community together this holiday season.”

 Downtown Snoqualmie Location

The rink starts on King Street – right next to all those pretty holiday lights in Railroad Park –  for the December 10th grand opening, which also includes Santa’s elves, letter writing to Santa, hot chocolate, and free holiday ornaments with decorating tips from the Snoqualmie Arts Commission.

Snoqualmie Ridge Location

On December 19th, the rink will move to Snoqualmie Ridge at the intersection of Center Blvd and Ridge Street. The grand opening at the Snoqualmie Ridge location will be December 21st from 1PM-5PM and will include a visit from Santa, Santa’s elves and the winter princesses.

The rink is open through January 1st.  Happy Holidays Snoqualmie Valley!
