Special Screening of ‘Girl Rising’ at North Bend Theatre, Spotlights the Importance of Educating Girls World-wide

Cascade Covenant Church and Women of Vision are hosting a special film screening of ‘Girl Rising’ this Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 2PM, at the North Bend Theatre, with the hope of raising awareness about the importance of educating girls around the world.

Event organizers say Girl Rising is a film about the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to transform societies.  The film presents GirlRisingthe remarkable stories of nine girls around the world, told by popular writers and voiced by renowned actors.

The film uses powerful storytelling to deliver one simple, critical truth: Educate Girls and you will Change the World.

Girl Rising, a global campaign for girls’ education,  partners with established nonprofit organizations that drive donations to programs that help girls get in school and stay in school.

Tickets to Saturday’s screening are a recommended donation of $5. The film is suitable for 6th graders and older.
