Snoqualmie Valley YMCA Healthy Kids Day Tomorrow, April 27th, Featuring 30 Local Businesses and Organizations

Healthy Kids Day is a big deal for the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA, not to mention at Y’s nationwide. Healthy Kids Day® is the nation’s largest health day for families.

So, the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA is encouraging all Valley kids and parents to stop by for the free, family-friendly community event tomorrow,  Saturday, April 27 , 2013.

This year’s theme is “Play, Learn, Connect.” The goal is to inspire three things in Snoqualmie Valley kids and families: healthy lifestyles and physical activity year-round, a commitment to educational activities over the summer and closer connections in the community.

From 10:00AM-1:00PM tomorrow, the Snoqualmie Valley Y will feature fun games and activities for all ages, healthy snacks, bounce houses, as well as free t-shirts for the first 100 kids. There are no joining fees for family memberships all weekend and there’s an opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about YMCA programs.

To help strengthen ties within the community, this year the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA is working with about 30 local community organizations, businesses and partners to make this the Snoqualmie Y’s biggest Healthy Kids Day event yet.

Healthy Kids Day will also take place at 1,900 Ys nationwide. The event is jam-packed with fun activities to help parents improve their kids’ lifestyles for the long-term. Research shows that without access to activities that stimulate both the mind and body, kids are more prone to gain weight and fall behind academically over the summer months.

Stop by and join the fun.  This is always a fun, free community event.  Plus, a new local band will be playing – who promises to have a name by tomorrow!
