Snoqualmie Teen Captures National Ski Championship Title!

** Update, 3/12/13, 6PM: Anna and Linnea placed 1st and 4th in the Super G race on Tuesday, March 12th, continuing their success at this year’s championships. **

They are cheering up at Alpental, home to the Snoqualmie Valley’s local ski racing team, Team Alpental Snoqualmie (TAS), based at The Summit at Snoqualmie.

Anna Mounsey, Mount Si High School student and member of the TAS Ski Team, captured the Women’s Junior (U-18) Overall National Ski Racing Championship yesterday, March 11, 2013, at Mammoth Mountain, California.

Anna made the podium for all three races, finishing 3rd in the Slalom, 2nd in Giant Slalom and 1st place in the Downhill race. With those three top individual finishes, Anna clinched the national overall title for the best combined performance.

When describing Anna’s championship performance, The Summit at Snoqualmie Sales and Marketing Director, Guy Lawrence, simply said, “Talk about domination!”

Linnea Baysinger, another local teen and Mount Si student, posted top 10 finishes as well.  According to Lawrence, both Baysinger and Mounsey have been lighting up junior women’s ski racing the past couple of years.

Congratulations, Anna and TAS Ski Racing!
