Snoqualmie Named #3 Safest City in Washington, Second Year Making the Top 10

Snoqualmie was recently named the 3rd safest place to live in Washington according to ValuePenguin, an independent consumer research and analysis firm. Out of 113 Washington cities, Snoqualmie had the second lowest crime score used for the “Safest Cities” ranking system.

To compile the list, 2013 FBI Crime Statistics were used (most recent data available) for cities with more than 5,000 residents. This data report tracks violent and property crimes from all law enforcement agencies that participate in the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting program. Data was standardized to reflect crimes per 100,000 residents, accounting for the different populations of each city.

Last year, Safewise ranked Snoqualmie the #9 safest city in Washington using the 2012 FBI Crime Statistics.

Police Chief Steve McCulley attributes Snoqualmie’s continued high safety ranking to the “City’s strategic investment in support of public safety infrastructure” and “teamwork” between the city and residents.

McCulley explained, “This has allowed the Police Department to provide a high level of effective and proactive law enforcement, as well as community education and engagement.”

Nearby Sammamish took the top spot as the  Safest Cities in Washington and Duvall took the second spot.
