Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater brings ‘Once upon a Mattress’ to open-air amphitheater

If you thought you knew the story of “The Princess and The Pea,” you may be in for a walloping surprise. Starting Saturday, July 15th, Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater launches its 52nd season with the musical comedy, Once Upon A Mattress.

Community members are invited to come and laugh under a canopy of trees in SFFT’s open-air amphitheater, surrounded by 95 undeveloped acres of woods, meadows and streams. If you arrive hungry for the show, you can also grab some signature BBQ dinners cooked by professional chefs over a huge fire pit.

SFFT members say after you see their performance of Once Upon A Mattress, you may not look at fairy tales quite the same way. Music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer. Directed by Andrew Coopman.

Performances will run from July 15th through August 13th, with shows on Saturdays at 2 pm and 7 pm and Sunday matinees at 2PM. Dinner is served between shows on Saturdays and after shows on Sundays. Prices range from $10 to $20, with free admission for children under the age of 4. Dinners range from $14 to $18, with $5 child hot dogs.
