Stabbing, Sexual Assault at North Bend Restaurant

On Monday afternoon, March 10, 2014, a police vehicle sits in the parking lot, the lights remain off and the doors locked at the usually bustling Jay Berry’s.  A late night stabbing and sexual assault inside the restaurant forced the closure while police investigate.

Shortly after 11PM on March 9, 2014, Snoqualmie/North Bend police officers responded to a 911 call from the North Bend restaurant located in the Mountain Valley Shopping Center, just off I-90 exit 31.

Officers found an adult female employee, stabbed once in the chest, duct taped at her feet and wrists and sexually assaulted.

Police say the victim was the last employee in the business and was exiting out the back door when an unknown, masked man forced her back onto the premises.  She told police she believes the attacker to be Hispanic. The victim was transported to Overlake Hospital and is in stable condition.

Police do not have anyone connected to the case in custody yet. A Major Crimes Task Force detective is assigned to the investigation.  The Snoqualmie Police Department is just three days into the takeover of North Bend police services.

Anyone having tips or information about this crime is encouraged to report it to the police by calling 425-888-3333. Callers will remain anonymous to protect their identity.
