National Signing Day, eight Mount Si seniors ready to become college student athletes

On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Mount Si High School held its annual ‘National Signing Day’ event for seniors who have signed letters of intent to play various college sports across the country next year.

This year eught members of the MSHS Class of 2017 (including two siblings) signed letters stating they will transition from being a high school student athlete to a college student athlete:

  • Chaija Olsson – University of Mount Olive, Lacrosse
  • Ben Keller – Columba Basin Community College, Baseball
  • Mason Marenco – Lower Basin Columbia, Baseball
  • Jack Weidencbach – Central Washington University, Football
  • Natalie Weidenbach – University of Texas, Soccer
  • Courtney Carr – Northwest University, Volleyball
  • Hannah Waskom – University of Washington, Cross Country
  • Lauren McCallum – Gonzaga University, Rowing

Mount Si will also be holding a second student athlete recognition ceremony on April 15th honoring students who received a letter of intent after February 1st, as well as others who have made verbal commitments or will be pursuing walk-on college athletic opportunities.

Parents and athletes can send their info to either Jessica Easthope (easthopej@svsd410.org) or to Ray Wilson (wilsonr1@svsd410.org) to participate in that upcoming ceremony.
