Live From New York! North Bend Theatre Streaming Mount Si Jazz Band Performance at Prestigious NYC Competiton

As the Mount Si Jazz Band prepares to jet off to the Big Apple for the third straight year to compete in the prestigious Essentially Ellington Competition at Lincoln Center, there’s a way those in the Snoqualmie Valley can stay connected – on the big screen, too.

The Essentially Ellington Competition and Festival features 15 high school elite jazz bands at the three-day event running May 5th – May 7th. Two other local high schools are making the return trip to the NYC competition as well – Garfield and Roosevelt.

North Bend Theatre owner Cindy Walker is opening the theater early on Friday, May 6th, for a special live streaming of our Mount Si Jazz Band – streaming it to the big screen for all to enjoy.

Doors open at 10:30AM, with the music beginning at 11AM.  Mount Si plays at approximately 1PM.  The live stream will show eight of the 15 finalist jazz bands, with Mount Si performing in the 6th spot. The remaining seven bands then perform on Saturday, May 7th.

For a complete competition schedule and link to the livestream, visit Mount Si Jazz Band’s Essentially Ellington 2016 page.

Good Luck to Mount Si Jazz Band I and Director Matt Wenman.  And Thanks to the North Bend Theatre for offering up their screen for this special event.
