Letter | Mayor, council incumbents helped make Snoqualmie one of safest, best cities to raise family

Dear Editor,
Snoqualmie Mayor and City Council incumbents have the experience and the dedication to keep Snoqualmie on the right track.

Mayor Matt Larson, Council Members Bob Jeans, Bryan Holloway, and Kathi Prewitt have a proven track record of outstanding dedication and service. Back in 2006, when the City of Snoqualmie was headed for insolvency like a runaway train, it was these leaders that formed a plan and got the City headed back in the right direction.

Without a drastic change in the City’s fiscal policies, Snoqualmie was facing a terrible budget crises no later than 2010. Yet these leaders, Larson, Jeans, Holloway, and Prewitt took on these and many other difficult issues with courage and resolve so much so that in the economic downturn of 2008, while other municipalities were looking at significant budget deficits, Snoqualmie’s budget was fully funded. No small feat.

Now, the City of Snoqualmie rates as one of the safest cities in Washington State and one of the best cities in America in which to raise a family. This quality of life for the citizens of Snoqualmie is the direct result of the leadership and dedication of these four public servants.

I served with these electeds for a little over ten years, and its accurate to say that no one could serve with more dedication or more attention to what the citizens of Snoqualmie want than these four people have. Larson, Jeans, Holloway, and Prewitt: voting for them is a vote for a continued improvement in the quality of life in Snoqualmie. Re-electing them is preserving the hard-won lessons of the last decade. Asking them to serve us for another term is not just the right decision for the citizens of Snoqualmie, it is the best decision.

This election, keep the outstanding leaders who have served us so faithfully: Matt Larson, Bob Jeans, Bryan Holloway, and Kathi Prewitt.

Sincerely,
Kingston
Kingston Wall
Snoqualmie City Council (2005-2015)

  • I would agree that some of those council members have the citizens interest but that can not be said for the leadership. Matt Larson is big city and push the small community folks out. The mill site is going through no matter what you the public want and Mr. Larson is spearheading it. Think about what you want to see for your city’s future and vote accordingly. I cannot imagine what else he can conjure up to ruin my family’s hometown. Vote for Fuzzy.

  • Snoqualmie Ridge and Old town of Snoqualmie need to be split as seperate City’s with seperate councils.
Larson and groupies don’t belong here.
That Monstrosity of a building needs to go to the Ridge and the people in it.
They are pushing there wieght around on my family’s land and also the neighboring properties. They are searching tax records to see if the elderly folks are behind on taxes so they can attack and take the properties like Vulchers under Larson direction!!!!!!
Larson thinks he has the upper hand here he figures these people are older and on fixed incomes so his staff can run wild here doing whatever they want on elders properties. Then using the Police as enforcement and intimidation. These people are afraid and don’t feel they can afford to fight back so there just getting walked on.
The people that I have spoke to, tell me they for voted for Larson… There homes are on Snoqualmie Ridge.

I have heard from many people the old part of Snoqualmie. One widowed elderly lady in this town has been given pictures and talked to by a city official of what they are going to do to her land. She has a property deed and they are just taking 12feet. SHE FIGURED SHE HAS NO POWER OR MONEY TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. ANOTHER THING LARSON AND CROONIES PREY ON IS THERE HEALTH IS NOT GREAT EITHER SO THE ENERGY IT TAKES TO FIGHT BACK ISNT THERE.
THIS IS ELECTED LARSON AND HIS GROUPIES. ITS B.S. YOU WANT 12FT LARSON OF SOMETHING, BUY IT!! NOTHINGS FREE!! IT’S GONNA BE THE MOST EXPENSIVE 12FT OF LAND EVER PAID FOR..
As for being free even your rights as a citizen in Snoqualmie isn’t free water/sewer is $160.. You are forced garbage with in city limits. If your elderly you feel defenseless to protect yourself or your property.
I feel for these people in this part of Snoqualmie, who have lived here, raising families then retiring. To end up spending there years left on earth with fears and intimatidation of there local police and there City management.
WHAT AN INJUSTICE AND DISGRACE THAT FOR YEARS WAS HOME. THE CITY YOU LOVED IS GOING TO NOW RUN YOU OUT WHEN MONEY AND HEALTH ARE AT YOUR WORST POINT.
