IGNITE dance team has ‘monumental’ performance weekend at Seattle competition

The Snoqualmie Valley is full of talented young people, including the dedicated competitive dancers at IGNITE Dance studio in North Bend. The team is made up of 121 dancers between the ages of 4 and 19.

IGNITE coaches informed us that they had a “monumental” first competition of the 2017-18 season, surpassing even their expectations.

At last weekend’s Rainbow National Dance Competition held in Seattle, the team earned the following awards and invitations:

  • 59 overall high point awards (top in age division)
  • 12 1st Overall high point awards (first place in age division)
  • 21 Dancer of the Year finalists
  • 3 Dancer of the Year title winners – Junior, Teen, and Senior level
  • Tap routine Water Fountain received the Al Gilbert tap award
  • Open routine Nothingness choreographed by Katie Black, received the choreography award
  • Senior level routines Amazing Grace and Nothingness were nominated for the Industry Dance Awards
  • 9 invitations to take class in New York and Hollywood Dance Invitational
