2014 Snoqualmie Valley Educators of the Year Announced

Yesterday, Tuesday, February 25, 2014, arms filled with flowers, balloons and alway important cupcakes, members of the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation snuck into Cascade View, Twin Falls, Mount Si High and the District Office and surprised the 2014 Educator of the Year recipients.

This year’s Educators of the Year are:

  • Danielle Bernardo, 4th grade teacher at Cascade View Elementary School — Elementary School Educator of the Year
  • Carolyn Phelps, 8th grade math teacher at Twin Falls Middle School — Middle School Educator of the Year
  • Nick Kurka, Environmental science/horticulture teacher at Mount Si High School — High School Educator of the Year
  • Karen Lewis, Transportation technician at the District Office — Classified Educator of the Year

The winners were nominated by parents, students, staff and community members.  They will also be honored at the Foundation’s annual spring luncheon fundraiser on March 20th at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge.  The yearly fundraiser helps provide funding for district-wide classroom grants and education enrichment initiatives.
